MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
*Pops imaginary party popper
You were probably expecting some other type of post, right? Okay, I know what you may be thinking after reading that title: "This chick must be crazy, in a bad way". Well, I can't guarantee that I'm not, but yeah, that title really does mean what it says. I really am in the works of making a satchel for myself and I really am going to push through with finishing and using it in the future. It will be forever my favorite bag once it is finished, and I will work it.
A lot of events this month and their pretty much going through a close while year ends as well. There was a wedding, a cosplay photo shoot, and Christmas party in a few days. I went to one of my cousins' wedding yesterday and it was a blast. Mostly because of the really great snacks that I munched on from the dessert table. No regrets! But maybe just a heavy stomach. Fruit tarts = HEAVEN.
Queen is a famous rock band that hailed way before I was born. I love their songs and it was a lucky steal for me when I found this top in a thrift store. Of course, it didn't start out this way. Since my hand get a bit itchy for crafts every now them, I turned this over-sized top into a muscle top. You just have to cut the sleeves~
The night before Friday had been filled with the sounds of thunder, rain, and strong winds. To be honest, I was rather happy that it finally rained here in Zamboanga City since it's been rather hot these past few days. On the other hand, there are still a bunch of evacuees over at Grandstand that are only housed by a roof that leaks and tents that could fly away any second. The Philippines is facing dark days, I hope it ends soon.
I bet you;re thinking about why this post is entitled like that. Well, perfect explanation, actually... because I am indeed wearing, my grandmother's top. She wore this for her birthday this year and I couldn't help but adore it. Not paying attention to the sleeves, it actually fit me very well. It's a sheer top, if I may add. I might just start going through her closet as well along with my mom's. Nyaha.
I've been seeing quite a number of people going around in sneakers that don't need any more shoelaces. I grew interested in them but not to the point of wanting to buy a pair for myself. So instead, I made two pairs from shoes that I already have. I'm a big fan of versatility, and DIYs, so the finished product had me be able to use the shoes with or without shoelaces.
One-meter of Garter, 1 1/2 width
Pair of Scissors
Needle, Pins (Optional)
Thread (Same color as shoe or at least unnoticeable)
I wake up one morning and head to he computer. I have this set list of websites that I visit every time I do so, the top three being: Facebook, Fanfiction, and Allkpop. Checking for updates seemed like the same old, same old routine that I have grown accustomed to. Of course, that was until I went to Allkpop.
Note: I won't be providing any photos. Y'all can just Google them. Nyaha.
I'll be arranging these bits of news by order of impact. To me, that is.
It's that time of the school year where everything anything graduation-related takes over the minds and souls of students. I'm currently a junior student but, already, it's the second semester and I am in dire need of a good company to intern in.
I've e-mailed a bunch of companies on whether or not they accept interns or not next summer. I may have also e-mailed a few other companies my resume and cover letter to make sure. But unfortunately for me, none of those companies seem to be showing any interest.
Today was a hot day, no kidding. But I had the guts to go around the campus in a scarf like a sick person. I mean, come on, it was an infinity scarf... that I bought for ten pesos. Nyaha.
'Tis the first day of the second semester and I equipped myself myself with the cover-up that I made during this tutorial. A few were able to tell that it was the same piece from that post. On another note, I felt proud to tell people about the endeavor as if it were my baby.
Some people say that my height isn't so normal around Zamboanga. Last time I checked, I'm around 165 cm, around 5"5. I have this guilty feeling of wanting to grow even taller actually, I'm praying on it. Anyway, Pink Berry and Teen Squad is a Boutique around the city that I live in. They actually have pretty good stuff... every now and then.
These two boutiques only have one owner, and she decided that it was about time to advertise her stuff. She talked with the photographer, Sefi Curada, to conceptualize and came up with something that I immediately fell in love with.
South Korea is probably one of the leading countries when it comes to fashion. They have made a lot of progress in the field and continue to do even more. All this made for a great concept. I was recommended to become the model of the shoot since people go around saying that I have Korean-esque features. Bada-been, bada-boom! Here's the post!
YOSH! I'm back with another sewing project for you all. For this project, I decided to give new life to one of the tops that I bought in one of the ukay-ukays in Cebu. I love the construction of the sleeves as it gives off a really laid-back feeling. The polka-dots are textured, they look like they were knitted on or something, Kawaii~
Pair of scissors
Marker (Tailor's chalk, pencil, etc.)
Thread and needle,
or Sewing Machine
Now what better way is there to spend a vacation? SHOPPING! TO be honest, I only had around 1500 pesos with me, and maybe an extra 2500 from a friend because he wanted me to buy something for him. First thing I asked my ama and ingkong was if there were any good Ukay-ukays (Thrift stores) that I could shop in while I was there. I felt dumb thinking that I even had to ask. I mean, probably all places in the Philippines has at least one of these gold mines in them.
Note: Photos were taken during night time, so shadows may conceal the original coloring of the clothing.
TADAIMA! So I come back to Zamboanga city after spending eight days in Cebu. It's been a long time since my last post. I didn't exactly feel the need to blog about anything considering the crisis that had occured for almost a month.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the usual six-photo quota that I set myself up with when doing outfit shoots. This is actually what I wore to mass, which in turn left me to speed up my usual process. Photos by my big sis, by the way.
We (me, my mom, two sisters and baby brother), went to Cebu to get away from the madness that was left behind by the siege, surprise surprise. We were greeted with news of an earthquake on the day before our flight. C'est la vie~
Oh! The next post will be about my Cebu haul. Watch out for it.
Okay, so it's been a while since my last post. So now here I am, spazzing, and hoping.
Darn it, Kishimoto has got to be one of the biggest manga trolls that I have ever come across in my entire life. Not only does he make the whole chapter completely about Naruto's will of fire, he completely leaves readers hanging with the whole "periods at the end" thing. I am brawling over here on what that might mean for the following chapter.
To end this, here are the two panels that made me all emotional and fangirl-mode with squeeee-ness.
Yes Hinata, we know what you really mean. :3
If only Neji Hyuuga was still alive. ;-;
Don't get me wrong, I was happy to have an excuse to dress during the day. Throw in a hat that I haven't used in a while and a pair of specs that I bought for less than 200 pesos and you got this little obstruction. Unfortunately going into the day did prove to be one of the best and most tiring one that I've had. Well, artistically that is.
I realized that I haven't been able to play with a lot of prints lately. It's quite hard actually, especially when you feel that something is either missing, or too far off. Personally, I may just wear one piece with prints on it and just go plain with my other pieces. Then again, I don't mind going for the whole print-on-print thing when the time calls for it.
I share my closet with my two sisters. Though one may think that it looks like an endless supply of ensembles, it really isn't Considering the body type that mine has taken a liking to, I can barely fit into most of their clothes. They can share with each other, but not with me. Frankly, I'm fine with that arrangement. I don't have to worry about fighting over a piece of clothing when the time may call for it. But I do let them borrow my clothes, occasionally, when I'm in a good mood, or when the event calls for it, most of the time never, actually.
But enough about my sibling issues. This post will mainly be about the pieces that I: a.) lack in my wardrobe, or b.) want to increase in the near future. Though I'm only able to doll up during weekends and special happenings, I feel that I really do need to maximize my choices despite the very short time I have to dress up. Oh, by the way, this list is an ongoing thing. I simply can't remember all that my mind had conjured up in the past. Anyway, let me begin now with:
Pieces that I wish to have, or have more of, in my closet.
Note: I found the photos in either Polyvore or the respective web sites of the items in this blog.
I'm blogging even while I'm sick to the bones. Well, not literally, but you may get what I mean. It started off with a dry throat yesterday and ended up with me being absent for my 7:30 am class. Even worse? Exam papers were returned and I'm Pretty sure that I didn't do that well with that subject. Oh well, c'est la vie.
Scarves have definitely been on my list of must-have items ever since the school year began. Luckily a boutique here sells a bunch for only 130 pesos. It's a steal!
It feels a bit unsettling that I'm blogging about on a thursday night. Then again, I went with my grandmother to a small party and just couldn't miss out on the chance to dress myself up. Also, before the event, I finally brought myself to sew up a new underskirt for one of the dresses that me and my elder sister bought together. As in, we split the price in half for each other for a more practical price.
I needed to really de-stress expecially since midterms is over. So a few of my peers invited me to join them for lunch at that new Korean Restaurant found around my barangay. May I tell you that the place is owned by real Koreans, therefore, making it a legit restaurant.
HYPE THE LOOK! ;)
Hell week, that is. Midterms is finally over for people around here, so I decided to blog about how the week's been.
STRESSFUL may be the only word that I can think of. Well, that, and PROCRASTINATION. I can't be the only who grew lazy over reading various handouts and going through colorful slideshows. And I most certainly can't help but mention how filming a music video is more than what hell week has been like altogether.
One of our midterms, however, was a music video. Excited much? Nyaha, veeeeeery much, actually. We had to go from place to place and shoot various scenes and angles and all that junk. Everything was fun especially with the presence of RJ Go. Although the atmosphere was serious and uptight, there was never a dull moment during the whole process.
Since I didn't have any classes last Friday, I decided to update my blog with a different kind of post. I'm sure that all of you are pretty aware of my growing
obsession enthusiasm over Anime and Kpop. So one day, while listening to a random playlist that consists of Anime OSTs, I came across one Kpop song that actually seemed to fit in with the bunch. Call me crazy, but I actually started visualizing what type of anime would fit in with the concept.
I've only been able to think of four songs that are well-suited to the idea of becoming OSTs. So now, I give you my list of Kpop songs that would make for a great Anime Opening/Ending OST. I won't be giving sample Animes because I feel that they might destroy the creativity that you're coming up with. So, let's start with:
It's that time of the year where our department gets together and enjoy the night. Yep, Comm Gathering. Unfortunately, more problems occurred than fun moments. Nevertheless, we all found a way to smile in the end. I iz a happy Berna. :3

Note: Photos belong to their respective owners. :)
The title basically says it all. I was lucky enough to become one of the core models to Ateneo de Zamboanga University's Centennial Coffee Table Book. It's got a bunch of photos that range from when the campus had been a vessel for protection during the war, and a means of joy to the people who now seek its solace.
If you've been reading from this blog, then I guess you already came across my Shorts become a Skirt post. This one, then, highlights the outfit that included that skirt. :)
The title says it all guys. :D I asked my mom one time if she still had any skirts in her closet. Lo and behold, she saw a pair of shorts instead. I didn't exactly like the way it looked because it sort of reminded me of board shorts when worn. But I have to admit, the fabric is beautiful and I felt that I'd be wasting a perfectly beautiful piece if I didn't know what to do with it. So then, I decided to repair it myself, and turn it into a skirt. :D
The weather remains to be an object of insult for quite a number of individuals. Yesterday it was sunny, then today had been rainy. Won't the weather make up its mind? Anyway, I guess I can say that I got the idea for this outfit from the pattern of the blouse, Aztec. It then reminded me of the Sun Dance that I can recall from watching a Filipino movie. :D I think it was "You Changed My Life", the one with Sarah and John Lloyd? :3

It's been raining really hard over here in Zamboanga city and today's rainfall definitely is the coldest one yet. You'd think that the rain would stop after having shown a bit of sunlight and and lighter drops. But noooooo, the weather just had to troll with the people and rain even harder in the later hours, until the wee minutes of the night. I'm currently huddled up in my jacket and jammies with a glass of warm milk beside me while I'm typing this.
A few people had requested that I make a tutorial post of the racerback top that I wore in a previous post. :) I'm happy to say that here it is! Finally! :D
Old Shirt, preferably a really loose one
Pair of Scissors
Needle and Thread
Drum roll please! Finally! An outfit post with decent photos! :D
HYPE THE LOOK!
I mentioned in my previous post that I'd do everything in my power to take some decent photos for my outfit posts as much as possible. I used my family's Canon EOS 1100D. I'm very much aware of how to use ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture, and all that jargon. Unfortunately, my fridays involve 7:30am classes and I wasn't able to stick to the schedule that I had originally planned for myself. I blame the way the cold water kept me from bathing in my usual pace. In the end, I just set the DSLR to the No-flash function.
It seems to me that I deleted the photo that had me in a profile. Gomene~
POLO: Mother's Closet
SKINNY JEANS: Bench
SCARF: Best Friend's Wardrobe
Since I'm not able to have my little outfit shoots all the time now (what else could you expect with a 7:30 class?), I decided to just post about my looks in this blog. It also means that I'll be able to update it more often now. :>
You may be wondering why I named this "The Last Cinderella". Funny thing, actually. XD I just finished watching a drama of the same title and decided to pay tribute to it. The female lead didn't exactly have the best fashion sense, but her style sort of looked as if it could still be do-able by other people. Hence, I came up with this! :3
The school I'm actually enrolled in also mentioned how the students are encouraged to wear black as a representation of their demand for justice. It hasn't exactly been that peaceful over here in Zamboanga City. I didn't wear white to show that I didn't care though, I made sure to tell people, when they asked, that I wore it to symbolize hope. I don't think I should really be going for black since it's too negative of a color to wear especially during times like this.
I hope things go well in the city I'm continuing to grow up in. I know justice is what most people aim to have right now, I just pray and hope that everything will go well.
"Everyday is a Fashion Show and the World is your Runway"
Hello everyone! So sorry that I haven't been able to post anything for a whole month. My last post dated back at May 14, so I guess counted right.
Basically, this post is all about the outfits that I've worn this past week (oh, by the way, I'm on my third year of college now, one more year to go). Excluding Wednesday though, it was Independence Day over here in the Philippines, so it was then a National Holiday, meaning, NO CLASS. XD As much I did enjoy dressing up to my standards, I still couldn't resist the idea of staying home in my pambahay. :))
It was sad that I wasn't able to have a decent outfit shoot for any of my outfits. :(( Nonetheless, what else are a mirror and cellphone camera for?
Note: Pictures are in low quality.
NOTE: This post is not for review purposes. It is to show my gratitude to Lookchem.com for gifting me with such items. Once more, this post is NOT for review purposes.
Yesterday, May 13, I was able to receive the gift that Lookchem.com had sent me in return for their wanting to sponsor my blog. I was definitely sad to find out about this while I wasn't around the house, I really wanted to be the one to sign for the postman. ;-;
I was able to receive a blue and white porcelain pen and bookmark suit from them, and let me tell you, these have to be the most extravagantly practical items I may ever have in my whole entire life. > 3<
Scar came from Merloquet Falls. :))
Though it may sound sentimental to you guys, I still remember the day that me and two of my classmates went to COMELEC and register ourselves as voters. At that time, it was hot. The place was crowded and wasn't that well-ventilated. We had to deal with different personalities just to get through that one October afternoon. Luckily, the three of us made it and were followed by another classmate who registered with her older sister.
^This post is entitled with that mainly because what you are about to read are definitely examples of what keep my mood up and down.
I can't remember how many times I've mentioned about my love for Korean culture in this blog. So to keep you all posted about it, I'd like to share to you all the dramas that I've been updating myself with for the past summer.
Gu Family Book/Family Book of Gu
Main Cast: Bae Suzy of girl group Miss A, and Singer Lee Seung Gi
There was this post that I did that had a piece of my digital art in it. It has actually been around three or five months since I last some decent digital art. I browsed through my briefcase in the family PC and found a lot of abandoned PSD files that were from last year to the year before that. I really am ashamed of myself for not being able to enhance this skill because, I admit, it is a very practical and useful talent especially when I want to pursue a career in Communication.
my latest digital work~
i think i remember mentioning that my next post would be about my trip to Merloquet Falls. :) me and a few of my classmates decided that, since we've been itching to escape from civilization for a while, we decided on heading off to enjoy ourselves through nature's best. :3
i don't remember how far we went but i do recall that it took us one and a half hours to arrive at Tagasilay, through rural transit, and another hour and a half to arrive at the falls. and let me tell you, the road trip and hike was really worth it. :D
not sure if this photo is from the bus trip or the jeepney ride. XD gomene~
for people who are living in Zamboanga City, the toughest decision to make would have to be choosing what to do during the different 3-hour power interruptions of the day. my list came down to a few things from reading a book, playing games on my phone, memorizing dance routines, pretty much the same thing over and over again, everyday. :))
this time, however, i went with my random urges and decided to give my hair a little makeover. (note: i used my phone to take these selcas (self-cameras) because the DSLR felt heavy. ^^v)
Kishi-san has had a lot fun trolling with his readers these past few chapters, i think i speak for everyone when i say that the flashbacks have made the manga quite monotonous. but then he comes back with a very surprising, but much wanted, comeback with his latest chapter! XD
it gets pretty boring during the summer so i pretty much need a list to be able to know what to do in a day. as many of you may know, i watch a lot of anime. so every once in a while i tend to search for new ones, or concluded ones that i have yet to enjoy. :))
i tend to be really picky when i want to make sure that i have a good time watching a series. i enjoy genres like love, school life, shoujo (girls), seinen (boys), magic, comedy, ecchi (this shows those kind of scenes), etc. these days i'm really craving bloody animes that have all the gore and killings that anyone can imagine. luckily for me, there's this new one that just released in April 6 of this year. >:3
hey everyone! :) soooo, it's summer over here. XD and what better way to celebrate it than with a piece that absolutely screams it? A CROP TOP! you can practically wear it at any occasion depending on how to style it. :> so for this post, i'll be teaching you guys on how to cut one up from an oversized t-shirt. :D
Pair of Scissors
excuse me for my sad excuse of a wink. :))
HYPE IT HERE!
KHAKI JEANS: Redgirl
WEDGED SHOES: Just For Feet
so yeah. :)) i have no excuse for my being away from this blog for so long except for the fact that i've been busy with school, and procrastinating. :p gomene~
so about the tutorial... i've been seeing a bunch of bloggers wearing them bonnets that have bunny ears at the ends. one example would be the ever-famous Rhea Bue of bebe-doll.net :
SIDENOTE: love her sweater!
